The lifecycle of an emergency with protection from Olympus.
Emergency: When an emergency situation occurs, such as a school shooting, a tornado or a fire, Olympus is there, ready to go into action, connected thought WiFi or Bluetooth and feeding into a central Access Control.
Alerts/Notices: There are several ways in which Olympus can be put into action, including:
Automatic monitoring device: such as weather alerts, fire alarm, environmental alerts, video, or gunshot detector. These can be legacy systems or can be installed as part of Olympus.
IP Phone: Pre-programmed alerts can be set by phone, by campus, by building, or by whatever criteria the customer sets.
Programmable badge: A security access badge can be issued to employees that include three emergency alert buttons. These buttons can be programmed in any way the customer chooses and, when triggered, will instantly report who triggered the alert, their location, when they pushed the button and more. This can also be set up to trigger automatic events, with permissions granted per user.
Wall- or desk-mounted panic button: Like traditional fire alarms, these can be triggered by anyone who discovers an emergency situation.
Mobile App: Also programmable by user, the mobile app is extremely convenient and ubiquitous.
Social media mining app: This always-on app scours the Internet looking for keywords linked to specific geographic locations in order to proactively address incidents. Users can program their own keywords, and can define the geographic are to be monitored.
Aggregation/Notification: Once the report of an emergency has been initiated, Olympus gathers all the available information together and begins both internal and external communications.
Internal: Olympus can use digital signage, IP phones, in-classroom monitors, overhead speakers, visual strobes, or any other form of media and broadcast information and instructions for required actions.
External: As soon as information is gathered, Olympus, through advanced Singlewire software, can contact community members, parents or business owners, as well as emergency services, local law enforcement or any other organization as programmed through email, texts, social media, mobile devices or outbound callas.
Visibility: In the event of an emergency, Olympus allows for the viewing of the entire area, allowing decision makers to observe the threat in real time and react appropriately.
Automated Actions: When alerted to a dangerous situation, Olympus can take any number of programmed actions including the initiation of lockdown procedures, notification of designated personnel, location tracking, provide event camera views, run reunification logistics, monitor “checked in safe” tracking, alert law enforcement and provide visibility, unlock/lock and open/close all doors, turn lights on/off, issue commands, share data, and post an event review. All of this is integrated and run by the Olympus system, ensuring there is no conflict between devices or people. Additionally, Olympus can facilitate the changing of digital signage, make phone calls, send text messages, route pages to phone/speakers, activate/deactivate strobes, allow the viewing of physical security and camera footage, turn lighting on or off, and find people.
Resolution: Once the emergency has passed or been resolved, Olympus can alert members of the organization, community, law enforcement and emergency services to the new status. This greatly reduces the spread of false information throughout a community, thereby leading to a greater degree of trust for the organization in question.
