Challenge

Visit San Antonio, the tourism board of San Antonio, TX, was presented with a challenge to migrate its existing infrastructure to the cloud ahead of moving to a new building. This migration will allow it the flexibility needed to better serve one of the top travel destinations in the world.

Solution

Visit San Antonio partnered with Netsync to plan, design, and implement its new cloud first technology strategy. Netsync worked with existing staff to migrate authentication systems, directory systems, applications, and phone systems to the AWS cloud and allow Visit San Antonio to decommission its on-premises data center.

With the data center now running in the AWS cloud, Visit San Antonio has the flexibility to move to the location that best serves the citizens and tourists of San Antonio without the concern of building a new data center facility. This migration also continues to save Visit San Antonio money each month due to the lower cost of AWS services when compared to its previous on-premises managed systems.

The Visit San Antonio cloud solution involved AWS services, such as secure virtual private clouds (VPCs), elastic compute cloud (EC2), virtual machines (VMs), S3 storage, and Amazon Chime voice connectors. It also included third-party solutions from Okta and 3CX.

This project is a great example of how Netsync can combine the expertise of more than 150 engineers, with experience in on-premises and cloud infrastructures, to create the best possible outcome for our client.
